The Business Integrator Model

A Business Integrator sits on the client side — between the business and the delivery partner — taking responsibility for the critical workstreams that determine success.

Why it exists

Client-side leadership, across every workstream that matters.

A successful SAP transformation requires two things to happen simultaneously. Your delivery partner needs to build and configure the technology. Running parallel, your business needs to be genuinely ready to receive it — with clear benefits, defined processes, clean data, and people who are prepared for the change.

Most organisations can do the first. The second is harder. It requires bandwidth, expertise, and independence that most businesses don't have sitting ready. That's the workstream a Business Integrator owns.

We work alongside your delivery partner. Not instead of them.

You bring

Your business knowledge, your decision-making authority, and your commitment to the outcome.

Limelight brings

Client-side programme leadership, workstream ownership, independent governance, and the Prism platform for real-time programme visibility.

Your delivery partner brings

Technical implementation capability, SAP expertise, and the team to build and configure the solution.

The difference.
Not an SI. Not a Big 4 firm. Built specifically for the client side.

Questions we get asked.
What is a Business Integrator and how is it different from a Systems Integrator?

A Business Integrator is a client-side partner who sits on your side during an SAP transformation. A Systems Integrator is contracted to deliver software — their incentives align to implementation, not your outcomes. A Business Integrator governs the programme in your interests: protecting scope, managing the SI, and ensuring transformation delivers measurable business value.

Limelight coined the term 'Business Integrator' in the UK because no existing role captured this: client-side programme leadership that holds the SI to account. Most organisations assume their SI will look after their interests. The commercial reality is quite different.
Do I need a Business Integrator if I already have an SI contracted?

Especially then. Once an SI is contracted, the commercial dynamic shifts in their favour — scope changes, rate escalations, and extended timelines become harder to challenge without independent expertise on your side. A Business Integrator is most valuable before SI engagement, but can restore governance and protect scope at any programme stage.

The earlier a Business Integrator is engaged, the greater the value. Limelight recommends engagement before SI selection — so you enter that conversation with a complete business case, defined scope, and independent leverage.
Can Limelight work alongside our existing SI?

Yes — and this is the most common model. We sit on your side of the programme, managing the SI relationship, overseeing delivery, and ensuring your business teams are change-ready. The SI remains responsible for technical delivery. Limelight provides the client-side oversight and governance that the SI cannot objectively provide for itself.

There is no duplication because we are doing work the SI cannot credibly do for itself: independent challenge of their own delivery. Strong client-side governance typically reduces overall programme cost through better scope control and less rework.
What does 'guaranteed outcomes' actually mean in practice?

It means we define success in measurable terms before we start and hold ourselves accountable to it. Our engagements are fixed-scope: deliverables, timelines, and success criteria are agreed upfront. We do not expand scope without your agreement, and we do not charge for rework within our defined responsibilities.

Guaranteed outcomes reflects how we structure every engagement — not a marketing phrase. The fixed-scope model is what separates Limelight from consultancies that bill time and materials regardless of outcome.
How is Limelight different from a Big 4 consultancy?

Limelight brings senior, hands-on directors who have personally delivered large-scale SAP transformations and stay close to delivery throughout. Unlike Big 4 firms, we have no commercial relationship with SAP or any SI, nor any potential conflict with financial audit partners.

Big 4 firms bring brand and scale. They also bring high day rates, a tendency to expand scope, and a model where experienced people sell while juniors deliver. Our independence means we challenge decisions that are not in your interest — something a Big 4 firm with SI partnerships cannot credibly do.
