SAP Model Company Services

SAP have now released model company services – preconfigured solutions for a variety of industries. The aim is to jumpstart the digital adoption based on best practice and experience witnessed through decades of implementations.

From the SAP News Website:-

These new services will help customers simplify, accelerate and enable digital transformation by providing a framework based on the broad business process expertise SAP has acquired as a result of decades of project experience.

“Companies today face an interesting dilemma. They must navigate the complexities of digital transformation without disrupting day-to-day business operations,” said Herbert Illgner, executive vice president, Strategic Projects, SAP Digital Business Services, SAP. “With the SAP Model Company services, we provide a framework to do just that. The model company approaches have been tried and proven. They’re effective in delivering faster time to value, predictable results and business transformation.”

Each SAP Model Company service is customized to a specific industry or line of business. The model company embraces the digital business framework methodology, industry reference architecture and the SAP Activate innovation adoption framework. It includes building blocks such as:

  • Preconfigured solutions: All the required applications, customizing settings and sample data to get started immediately whether operating in the cloud or on premise
  • Business content: End-to-end process models, which incorporate the experience and knowledge SAP has acquired relevant to the industry or line of business
  • Accelerators: Configuration and how-to guides, test and demo scripts and implementation tools
  • Services: Hand-over and enablement workshops to jump-start discovery, preparation, exploration and realization

With this announcement, SAP has deployed model company services for 10 lines of business and industries including: core retail and oil and gas as well as utilities; connected manufacturing; R&D, engineering and sustainability. SAP will be working with its customers to deploy additional industries later this year.
