SAP Fiori Cloud simplifies the implementation and adoption of the SAP Fiori user experience via cloud services on the SAP Cloud Platform. For example, it means that maintenance, updates and delivery of apps is taken care of by SAP – no updates, backups, downtimes for you to manage.
The apps reference library now also includes information about the classic applications for which we provide launchpad content, in addition to information about apps.
SAP Fiori 2.0 is the user experience for all SAP S/4HANA releases – you can access all applications via the launchpad, and they all have one look via the SAP Fiori 2.0 visual theme: Apps as well as classic SAP GUI and WebDynpro applications.
For most business roles in SAP S/4HANA a combination of newly designed apps and classic applications are needed to cover the full variety of a user’s tasks. The list is gradually reducing as more and more content is migrated to the new UI.
SAP Fiori Cloud allows customers to run apps and classic applications (SAP GUI and WebDynpro) using the launchpad as the single entry point. Starting with the SAP S/4HANA 1610 release, SAP provide launchpad content for each role. This includes the relevant apps for the role as well as the relevant classic applications. The classic applications are called in the connected backend system and the corresponding launchpad content is managed in the SAP Cloud Platform account.
The SAP apps reference library has now been updated, so selecting SAP Fiori Cloud selects both apps as well as classic applications for which launchpad role content is available. Currently, there are already over 20 roles enabled for SAP Fiori Cloud for SAP S/4HANA. If you want to see only SAP Fiori apps or only classic applications, you can easily filter these using the “Application Type” filter.
