The Challenge

Mundipharma had embarked on a large-scale global business transformation — standardising operations across international business units, consolidating legacy ECC systems, adopting SAP best practices, and centralising key activities, all enabled by SAP S/4HANA.

The programme was being delivered by an entirely offshore systems integrator. As the programme progressed, the executive team grew concerned about pace and direction. They needed an independent team to assess where the programme actually stood — and then lead it through the critical build and deployment milestones ahead.

Limelight began with a rapid programme review — assessing progress, identifying risks, and providing the executive team with an honest, actionable picture of where intervention was needed. The findings were acted on immediately.

Limelight was then engaged to lead the programme through its build and deployment phases — managing key workstreams, coordinating multiple third parties, and governing the relationship with the offshore SI throughout.

Working predominantly remotely across a global team, Limelight delivered a global template and multiple deployment waves, including all regional localisations. The programme established a singular target operating model and standardised processes across Mundipharma's international operations — the foundations for the organisation's next phase of digital growth.

A global template and target operating model were established, providing a consistent, scalable foundation for the remaining deployment waves.
Multiple regional deployment waves were completed, each with full localisation, giving Mundipharma a genuinely standardised global SAP landscape for the first time.
The programme recovery — from initial audit to successful first go-live — demonstrated that a complex offshore-led programme could be stabilised and delivered with the right client-side governance in place.
